Stage of Innovation: Idea (You have thought it through and documented it)

Problem: Oba-Wars will be developed as the flagship product of Revival Game studios which we founded to develop mobile game universes centered on ancient African history, content, themes, settings or backgrounds with emphasis on Afro-historical accuracy blending original African historical and traditional knowledge with conventional gameplay styles as a solution to the prevailing gap of African fundamental history in African children, teenagers and young African adults and the general African under-representation in the digital entertainment industry. ? Oba-Wars : Thrones of Benin is the first in the eleven sequels of Oba-Wars game series which is based upon military expeditions of Warrior-kings, generalissimos, Warlords and powerful warriors of the second dynasty of the legendary Afro-Benin Empire. ? Oba-Wars will be the flagship game series of Revival Game studios with a vision to create games based on the re-exploration, rediscovery and the unmasking of forgotten African pre-colonial kingdoms, empires and militaries. Story and narrative will be based on the oral and written traditional history of Oba Ewuare’s ascension to the throne of Benin kingdom in the year 1440CE. The game background and environment would be set in an ancient Benin kingdom 3D world while being partly fictional would draw deep inspirations and have it’s foundations in ancient Benin history, culture and tradition with many parallels, references and callbacks to historical events and cultural figures. Oba-Wars-Thrones Of Benin is a thrilling mobile action-adventure stealth game where the player is a crown Prince on a quest to recover his throne and kingdom from his tyrant younger sibling.

Unique Selling Point: Oba-Wars is developed as a game solution as a game solution for Afro-conscious visitors to the mobile stores seeking game experiences around ancient Sub-Saharan African history as opposed to mobile game experiences built around European, American and Asian historical cultures. Oba-Wars:TOB and Oba-Wars: Clash of two kingdoms will be developed as prequels to Oba-Wars: Age of Benin (1-5); Oba-Wars : An Empire’s Decline; Destiny; Aftermath Rebellion; Revival; and future sequels. These would be developed concurrently and set the foundations for future cross genre releases in rpg, adventure, action-strategy and strategy comprising major pre-colonial Sub-Saharan African civilizations and militaries including the Mali Empire(Mansa-Wars), Zulu Kingdom (Zulu Wars), Ashanti Empire (Ashanti Wars), Songhai Empire (Songhai Wars) and the Dahomey Amazons etc. Thrones Of Benin is designed to introduce players to pre-colonial Benin, one of the most famous, influential and forgotten African kingdoms. ?Most available African game companies in the nascent gaming space while sufficiently Afro themed are focused on developing games that tell the African narrative from mythology, fantasy, trivia, Afro futurism and local everyday experiences and culture without paying proper attention to original African authenticity, history, tradition, culture and glory, consequently many existing game solutions ignore the historical aspect of the African storytelling. ?Revival Game studios would seek to preserve African history through gaming and thus pay careful attention to African history and it’s cultural richness to develop strong stories African players can relate to with high emphasis on historical facts and accuracy resulting in relatively high player edutainment. Our mission is to rediscover, re-explore and excavate ancient African civilizations, heroes and heroines tackling the prevailing identity crises and the cultural vacuum in Africa. Becoming the market leader and one of the mobile game brands uniquely focused on original African history, we would use interactive mobile digital entertainment with rich and quality African artworks to correct misrepresentation and challenge stereotypes of African history and culture locally and internationally.
