Problem: We are solving two problems: plastic waste and homelessness. Plastic waste is a big problem in most African countries with most of these waste ending up in landfills, blocking drainage and polluting urban places. Using the circular economy model, we collect plastic waste from families and households around us in exchange for cash and we use the same to make our bricks to solve homelessness. Homelessness has become a cause and cause of poverty. In Nigeria for example, there are are least 22 million people in need of houses. This figure doesn't capture the need for better schools, hostels, kiosks etc. Rising prices of construction materials, rising poverty levels and a growing population has worsened the housing/homelessness problems as people cannot afford to build. So we are using plastic waste to tackle poverty as well as homelessness.
Unique Selling Point: People currently use cement and timber produce which more or less leads to environmental pollution and deforestation respectively. These current though conventional products are always increasing in price, are not a low cost solution and takes longer to use or a level of expertise to use whereas our solution is cheaper, last longer and is detachable.
