Innovation: The designed and fabricated eco-friendly machine is an invention which makes recycling of plastic wastes easier and environmental friendly by preventing the release of harmful VOCs through their purification in a scrubber. Air quality assessment conducted have proven to provide a safe workplace environment for the operators of the invented machine as health will not be complicated in it operations.

Description: "The Eco-friendly plastic wastes recycling machine is an innovation which combines a locally designed and fabricated melting machine and a scrubber which collects all the resulting emissions from the melting of plastic wastes. The melted plastics are mixed with fine aggregates (sand) and fed into a mould to produce paver bricks (interlocks). The uniqueness of this research is seen in the possibility of processing plastic wastes without releasing toxic volatile organic compounds which are characterized with melting plastic wastes. The machine is simple to operate and doesn't require high technical know-how to operate. Air quality assessment from the operating procedures of the machinr were found to be within safe limits as compared to the recycling of plastic wastes without using the machine. The machine is an innovation that will greatly reduce the volume of plastic wastes within the environment. "
Problem: It solves the problem of plastic wastes disposal in the environment and the release of toxic volatile organic compounds during the recycling of plastic wastes to produce paver bricks.
